Thank you! I really can't complain. I mean, I can, but that's what I have been doing since the election and you don't need to hear the horrible day-to-day gruel of fighting against the President-Elect and his Administration.

I haven't forgotten the story(ies) I have been working on "Before Me" on and off. I hope to post something soon.

Oh, damn, that's terrible to hear - I hope that the current politics is not ruining your life too much. I still can't fully believe someone was mad enough to hand this clown the presidential position. I hope you're not feeling any immediate problems yet - is what is happening to the health scheme affecting you in any way?

It really is terrible. Every day we learn more about the people he is appointing. Basically, he wants people in charge of departments who don't think those departments are important. And it all seems illegal and unconstitutional as hell, and yet he is currently getting away with it. Despite the fact that most of his own party aren't fans of him, but since he has been able to give them both houses of congress, empowering their agendas, so they are willing to work with him. Instead of working for the good of the American people, they would rather secure their hold. It's disgusting. It's upsetting.

He hasn't taken office yet (that happens tomorrow, ugh) so none of his policies have passed. I doubt that anything will happen until the middle of the year. But I am far from being a political scholar, so these are all based on my observations and the information gathered over the news. The health care is okay for the moment. Luckily, I am healthy (except for being overweight) so though I may lose my health insurance, my life isn't in danger. That isn't true for a lot of people I know and care about, and that is who I am really worried (and fighting) for.

As for the story, I will work on the chapter now. Even if I only get 100 words done that's 100 more than there were before now. XD

I know he's recruited a bunch of moral-less greedy monkeys for his government (a young Earth creationist for education - Puh-lease! - you guys will be in Middle Ages by the time he's done with you in 4 years!) - I've been keeping an eye on the orange fart closely. I think in the end, it will be his own communication that buries him eventually (I just hope he doesn't take millions of people with him by starting a war or something).

I thought some major changes already took place, when a friend of mine posted this on his timeline a couple of days ago (but it's possible that I misunderstood and none of the changes have taken place as of now):

"In Case You Missed It
The Senate voted 51 to 48:
1. To end coverage for preexisting conditions, veterans benefits, and aid to rural hospitals.
2. To remove discrimination protection for women in healthcare.
3. Against the provision allowing children to remain on their parent's insurance till the age of 26.
4. To cut off funding for the Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
5. Against ACA contraceptive coverage and maternity care provision.
6. To direct committees to send budget legislation to defund and repeal the Affordable Care Act.
For those who get health insurance through work, no pre-existing conditions. Lifetime caps for coverage are back for everyone.
Real and disastrous actions are being taken that will affect more than just the 20-30 million people who will lose their health care coverage and the 3 million people who will lose their jobs.
Despite their assertions of this being an action to "repeal and replace," no viable alternative plan has been proposed.
The House votes Friday.
As of this moment, no replacement exists."

Anyway - I know you will all be affected - if not afflicted - as a nation, I just hope that you, personally, don't really feel the brunt of the changes. Stay healthy, and informed, that's probably the one advice that might come in useful! :)

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. Sneaking in that vote (seemingly out of nowhere.) There is so much to keep an eye on that the newest fuck up constantly compete to be the most urgent issue to talk about. I was so irate when I read about the vote and then the next day a new appointment was made and I became irate about THAT!

The extremely sad thing are the people who voted for him are realizing that they have voted against their own interests. People didn't realize that the thing they were sp happy to get rid of, Obamacare, is the same thing they currently use ACA. The branding of it being a failed program and the overuse of buzz words is one of the many many ways this happened.

The new 100 words:

“What do you want, brother?” I had expected to hear the venom in my sister’s voice, but she instead sounded tired and expectant, like she knew this was coming, but really hoped it wouldn’t.

“I want to know why you are doing this,” I said, caught off guard by the lack of fight in her to explain myself any better. She waited for me to cleared my throat and try again. “I want to know why you’re here with him.” And not with Harry, the words were unsaid but she squirmed in her chair and I knew she had heard them anyway.

I think a lot of people are going to wake up in the years following his inauguration and realise that the roses he promised them smell of manure. Too bad that a bunch of self-centred crazies who clearly need their lesson in the face with a chair, took the entire nation down into the pit. As little trust as I have in him, I hope my projections are gloomy and he's better than I hope him to be - he really can't disappoint me, honestly.

As to the story: BRILLIANT! - as always! :) You're definitely writing for a "Make me smile" charity here! :D Thank you for sharing!

Yeah, the problem is telling those people now would only backfire. They would take any facts given them as fake and that the people providing the facts are just trying to call them stupid. And no one likes to be called stupid. It just makes you defensive.

Thank you. I have missed writing it. I have a notebook where I place little lines or images for a scene, but I haven't actually sat down and typed in the official document for the chapter (brilliantly titled Before Me 7 LOL)

I hate to say it, but the situation reminds me of that in Nazi Germany, because a lot of people were yelling "bloody murder" there as well, before anything dire really happened. I think some people understand faster than the other that when you marginalise certain groups of people or trample upon their rights, the society loses as a whole.

LOL, I hope Before me 7 sees the light of day soon! Missing writing it seems like a good sign! *is hopeful*
