I'm a lucky girl, I'll be the first to say that! Even though I bitch and complain lots (Slytherin charming grumpy nature, we can't help it), I know there's really not that much wrong with my life: me and my forever-groom both have jobs, I've got two little devils posing as kids that are healthy enough, and even though I'm constantly out of time, I still somehow managed to make some wonderful friendships here, online, and on LJ platform especially.
So, in the view of my b-day, almost a week ago now, I'm still getting super fun and brilliant presents. Yesterday I received a super-cute package by my dearest
candamira which couldn't come at the better time - namely, it contained tea and chocolates and I swear I was ready to rob a store for these two things just when I got them! :D And the package was so pretty! The wrapping was all that and then the lovely card, made by her daughter (whose skills with the scissors are clearly better than mine!) - I was awwing all the way.
Just look at it - isn't it adorable:
( My super-cute b-day present )
And you'd think that would be all, but I'm way luckier than that! :D My very talented bestie
philharmony who is more than busy enough with her family life, took the time to draw me not one but TWO lovely pictures of the next gen children! :D The first picture features a very adamant Rose Weasley and a slightly panicked but very excited-looking Scorpius Malfoy hurrying to catch the Hogwarts express, while the second picture has my super-favourite tiny freckly Hugo in it (!!!), experimentally dealing with what Molly Weasley might call "a pest problem" using a wand he clearly managed to nick from his mum (oups!). Go see the cutest pictures ever and please give the author some love - I think they're super adorable! :D
UPDATE: The Hugo picture also got coloured - would you look a that! - I absolutely love everything about it: the lovely flaming hair, the tiny feet - the freckles... In short, he's great! :D
And now to the business part of this post - the reveals! As some of you might have guessed, I took part in this year's
hp_nextgen_fest and I threw out another phone book of China (regarding the length) called Intervention. :) It's a very G-rated (with exception of one scene) story told from the perspective of an 11-year-old Scorpius Malfoy, which I wrote back in February, so I had it written before I saw The Curse Child (and Scorp's crush on Rose, LOL). It was meant to be a part of the Ron/Draco fest, but because I had to leave for the US, I ran out of time and I submitted a shorter story ("Dance with me") for that one. The way this story is written, it could fit into any of the two fests. I realise it's not everyone's cookie, because of the child's perspective, lack of porn (LOL!), the pairing and the biblical length, but I had some awesome comments on it, so I'm not complaining at all! :D Here's what I made of it. :)
Title: Intervention (goes to AO3)
Word count: 42.619
Pairings: Scorpius Malfoy/Rose Weasley (future), Draco Malfoy/Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger/Michael Corner
Rating: mostly G, with one R-ish scene
Disclaimer: Try as I might the adoption procedure of the characters is still not going anywhere and I can't call them mine. The story, however, is another matter, but it was done for love, not profit. :)
Warnings: lots of mischievous kids (at least ond of them unscrupulous mastermind), two oblivious, stubborn purebloods who are in grave need of some intervention, one unhappy ex-wife with an utter snot for a boyfriend
Summary: There isn't much to entertain an11-year-old Scorpius Malfoy in his sheltered existence, other than secretly practising magic and listening to his father's daily rants about his working partner, a.k.a. "that colossal idiot" Weasley. But shortly before he embarks on his first year journey to Hogwarts, Scorpius stumbles upon his father's big secret that involves a certain someone his father has been pining for - and suddenly his father's love life seems to call for emergency intervention. Now, what could an 11-year-old possibly do? Not much... but a bunch of 11-year-olds (or not quite) just might surpise you.
