Does anyone know...?
Hello, everyone!
Like every person in the Universe - and their mother - I've somewhat migrated to DW with synchronised posting to LJ - and to be honest, I'm kind of hating it because I haven't managed to study all the settings and whatnots of it.
Does anyone know if there is a setting DW where you can set for the DW to alert you with an e-mail that your DW friend(s) have posted something? I honestly don't even remember browsing through Friends page and I'm afraid that I'm going to lose contact with most of you because I simply won't be nudged enough to follow what you guys have been up to.
That's how I had it set up with LJ - and if you still cross-post there, I'll see it - and that's how I'd like to have it set up in DW. I'm afraid I'll fall out of touch with everyone if I have to go browsing over my friends' page simply because I won't remember to in all my busy-ness.
I'll try to post a little update some time later in the week when my son is gone for school trip - I'm bound to have more time at some point! :)
*sends hugs to everyone across the fandom*

There is the Track Account function. If you use it, you get an email whenever the user makes a post. :)

Thanks again for your help!

And there's a little bell in the options along, 'leave this community, subscribe, join, etc.' Yes? SO you click on the little yellow bell and then you're showed a series of options including notifying you when there's a new entry. It also works for regular users. :)

Strange to see all the new layouts and get accustomed to them. Oh well, we'll manage sooner or later. Didn't know about the bell thing, but I need less not more notifications (I've subscribed to way too many brilliant authors on ao3 - LOL).
Anyway, good to see you. *hugs*

Oh, I definitely need the notifications to stay active, or my RL would flood over my fandom existence and I'd probably develop grumpiness as a regular trait to my personality. Sometimes it feels as if the fandom is the only thing that sort of keeping it all together for me. Take now, for example. We just made it home from the night swimming with kids, only to discover that there was a loose drawer in my son's travelling bag that might make him lose half the stuff he's taking to the school trip, so I've just spent the last half an hour sewing and cursing the wreck of a bag, and my fingers hurt from the bloody needle refusing to fit through the thick fabric. But I'll try to do some reading and /or writing later, and that's kind of keeping me going.
I'm so glad we're both still triyng to keep contact! *squishy hugs, many of them!*
