I think the closest I've found to this is to "track" someone. Like, say I want a notification every time daily_snitch makes an entry. I go to the profile:
And there's a little bell in the options along, 'leave this community, subscribe, join, etc.' Yes? SO you click on the little yellow bell and then you're showed a series of options including notifying you when there's a new entry. It also works for regular users. :)
